What is Psychosophy®?

Psychosophy is a new school of transformation emerging from a synthesis of five foundations: psychology, philosophy, spirituality, growth technology, and cocreativity. In other words, it is an integrated psychological paradigm weaving together new methods for viewing and understanding human nature, new ways of realizing and holding philosophical truths, new approaches to deepening and exploring one’s spiritual experiences, new techniques for joyous growth, and a new art of conscious creativity. In each of these areas, rather than asserting a rigid doctrine, Psychosophy empowers you to discover truth based on your own direct experience of what actually works in the real world – both inner and outer. In fact, all aspects of Psychosophy are open to evolutionary change, and are offered as well tested hypotheses to be further proven, refined, or disproven by direct application to improving the quality of your own and other’s lives. Such improvement is a central purpose of Psychosophy.

In many contemporary academic perspectives, these five areas of human experience have often been largely cut off from one another. Yet, separated from self-understanding, philosophical wisdom, and inner spiritual guidance, powerful manifestation and growth technologies can simply enhance one’s effectiveness at ignorantly harming oneself and others. Separated from a psychological understanding of human nature and from the basic question of how to creatively earn a good living, some forms of modern spirituality can seem like stale, dogmatic ideals, unrealistically detached from real human experience. Separated from the sense of the divine within us and from deep philosophical wisdom, much of modern psychology has become a mechanical study of the animal side of human nature. Separated from practical techniques for inner growth and outer creative expression, much of modern philosophy has become a dry relic of little practical use to most people.

Is it possible that a synergistic new paradigm can unite these five fields into an experiential path of joy which truly meets our common human need for comprehensive understanding of our own nature, for profound philosophical wisdom about life, for ever deeper spiritual realization, for effective growth processes, and for meaningful creative expression? It is possible, and Psychosophy is beginning to meet that need.

The synthesis rising up from these five foundations unites elements of past schools of psychology, including a new research methodology and new models of human nature, development, relationships, creativity, consulting, and education. Placing them in a causal sequence, we can view Psychosophy as:

  • A new research method generating
  • An experimentally verified model of human nature, which leads to
  • A new understanding of human development,
  • A new understanding of human relationships, and
  • A new understanding of human creativity, all of which is integrated into
  • New consulting and educational systems.

As the consummation of this sequence, the consulting and educational systems offer a vast array of potent, effective resources to ever more fully contact and live from your innermost self. Psychosophy’s working principles, models, transformational techniques, and community support free you to enter an ascending spiral of self-nurturing, self-discovery, and joyous, serviceful self-expression. Ever fresh and self-renewing, this inner blossoming steadily infuses all your creative endeavors, from preparing and enjoying life-filled food, to building deep, loving relationships, to clarifying and co-creatively actualizing your life’s purpose.

In addition to being a new school of psychology, Psychosophy is also offered as a new word. What does the word, Psychosophy mean? Since it points to a subjective experience, as many valid definitions could be given as there are unique minds and souls on Earth. But the inner definition, which must always stand above any others, is that Psychosophy (from Psyche, meaning soul, or innermost essence, and Sophia, meaning loving wisdom) is living the loving wisdom of your innermost essence.
